Cocos2D started as a Python engine, but soon was ported to many other platforms, right now the support for iOS could be one of the main driving forces behind the project. I have just tried the iPhone version and learned of how it works at the same time I was learning Objective-C, it has been daunting and exciting.
Soon I will publish some of the results of my experiments and will release more info about my projects. What I can say is that the Engine offers great stability and support from an active community.
It is so refreshing to have personal projects and have the support of your family. My wife always offer a honest opinion about different game issues and is always ready to help, she is a game designer in the rough.
